Why Borders Will Go Out Of Business

6pm.com Pricing Mistake

While we’re sure this was a great deal for customers, it was inadvertent, and we took a big loss (over $1.6 million – ouch) selling so many items so far under cost. However, it was our mistake. We will be honoring all purchases that took place on 6pm.com during our mess up.

Just last weekend, Borders screwed up similarly: Borders Does A Price Bait And Switch!

How did they handle that? They wiped out all of the orders and sent everyone a twenty-five dollar gift card!

They understand that a customer is really priceless.

Borders thinks a customer is worth twenty-five bucks.

And that’s why we’ll all be saying goodbye to Borders down the road.

A $449.99 iPhone App For $1.99?

From time to time — OK, when I’m bored — I go through the TwitPic Public Timeline. It’s really fascinating.

So, which is correct? And is the non-sale price really $449.99?
